Top Tips
Creative and Informative Item
Descriptions
Make sure your item names are descriptive, but also intriguing and
interesting. Remember to also include detailed descriptions
that include all terms and conditions in your brochure.
Recognise Donors
Show your appreciation to donors by providing recognition on items
that they have donated. Contact them personally after the event to
let them how appreciated their contribution was to the event.
Money for old
smartcards!
Encourage your guests to return their smartcards but getting the MC
to announce that each one represent $1. to the charity and that one
will be drawn out of the hat for a bottle of champagne.
Close the auction with a
bang!
An on screen countdown, hype from the MC, and encouragement from
the crowds, all lead to competitive final moments and helping hit
that revenue target.
Sponsorship
Don’t let budget constraints prevent your silent auction from
having a record breaking year of profits! There are many high
visibility branding opportunities on the personalised smart cards,
bidding devices screens and big screen that can be offered to a
sponsor to help pay for the system. Read more here...
One for the
Geeks!
Your IML Producer can provide you a chart and
analysis of the bidding activity throughout the event, it’s geeky
we know but a great way to see what worked best and fine tune your
timings, prizes and invites for next year’s auction! This is also a
great way to plug any items that are still at a bargain price.
Try before you
buy...
You might want to show the committee how an
electronic solution would help your event or talk through your
ideas and options- having a demonstration and consultation about
any system you are considering is our strong recommendation.
