About The Worm

The Worm is an on-screen graphic that charts the changing opinions of your audience throughout a live presentation or speech. The worm turns white and climbs up the screen if audience reaction is positive, but turns red and plummets downwards if their reaction is negative.

Our real-time "worm" chart can be displayed live on-screen to your audience, to show general opinion in the room.

You can use The Worm to pinpoint reactions and gauge opinions at a specific point in your speech or presentation. Voters can easily be grouped by age, sex and region, enabling you to track multiple demographic groups simultaneously.

How The Worm works

Audience members use IML’s interactive Communicator keypads to vote their reactions to what they hear and see during live presentations or speeches.

Participants simply vote their approval rating on a given scale at continuous intervals. The worm is an average of the audience’s approval rating at every moment.

Votes are received instantly and the data is automatically displayed as a "worm" timeline graph that moves across the screen to give a visual representation of audience opinions.

Use The Worm during:

  • Live television debates - The Worm can be displayed live on TV screens.

  • Product launches
  • Presenter (Speaker) Evaluations
