Product Details

Text messaging promotes inclusiveness and enhances audience participation by giving everyone the opportunity to respond to questions in their own words.

Text messaging from the Communicator keypad - how does it work?

In the same way that text messages are sent from a mobile phone, participants simply type their messages into the Communicator keypad and press send.

Text messaging can be enabled during live presentations or it can be left open so that participants can text-in their comments and questions throughout your meeting.

Messages are received immediately by a control laptop, where you can quickly review, edit and prioritise them before they are displayed live.

Anonymous Vs Identified

Anonymous text messaging will ensure you receive open and honest feedback from your audience, providing you with rich quality feedback data.

Alternatively, you can track audience text messages back to the person who sent them using IML's Smartcard Identification cards.

Text messaging has proven extremely valuable during the following types of events:

Training sessions

Text messaging provides you with an alternative to using multiple choice question formats during examinations and training sessions. Participants can text-in the answer using their own words, with the following benefits:

  • You can be certain that participants have not guessed the answer from a multiple choice format.
  • Learning is enhanced, as active participation during training sessions ensures delegates are kept engaged and interested in what they are being taught.
  • Feedback data can be used post-event to assess employee strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to identify areas where further training may be required.
  • Asking questions using a wider variety of question formats will keep participants energised and help to ensure that concentration levels are retained throughout training sessions.

Question and answer sessions

Gain greater control over your debates and Q&A sessions with Message Manager - IML's text message management software. You decide which text messages will be displayed live to your audience, ensuring your session remains focused and constructive.

Message Manager will also ensure that your Q&A sessions are fully accessible and inclusive, as all participants have an equal opportunity to text-in their opinions.

Text messaging is a particularly valuable tool for gaining insight into the thoughts and opinions of audience members who wouldn't normally have the confidence to speak aloud at a conference.

Your feedback

Your responses to unanswered questions and comments received from audience members via the text messaging function can be posted onto your company's website at a later date.

Brainstorming sessions

Instantly capture a group's ideas and opinions and display their text messages live to fuel further discussion. You can even cast a live vote to gauge how the rest of your audience feels about a comment received via text message.

Quizzes

Enhance fun quizzes by getting teams to text-in the missing word from a famous phrase or comment.

Other benefits

Participants can text-in as many questions and comments as they like.

Text messages are received instantly, allowing important issues to be dealt with immediately.

IML's text messaging function carries no time restraints and can be open for as long as you need it. You could use text messaging during presentations or keep it open all day.

Access to text messaging can be controlled by restricting use only to those issued with Smartcards.

You can measure changes in perception and opinions by comparing text message responses to the same question asked before and after a presentation.

All text messages are automatically stored to a database for post-event analysis.
