2006 ANZ Annual General Meeting
- ANZ use IML’s audience response technology to set new standards in meeting management…
Case Study
FACTS
Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) sought to enhance the 2006 AGM for its shareholders by implementing a quicker, more efficient voting system.
CRITICAL ACTION
ANZ introduced Computershare’s electronic voting system to help achieve its objective. The system was customised to meet ANZ’s resolution requirements and synchronised with audio visual presentations to ensure continuity throughout the meeting.
Attendees were registered and issued with a personal Smartcard (that assigned voting rights based on their shareholding and proxy instructions received prior to the meeting) and an interactive keypad. Shareholders voted on each resolution, by inserting their smartcard into the keypad and casting vote with the press of a button.
Simple voting instructions were presented by ANZ’s Chairman, ensuring a user-friendly process for attendees.
RESULTS
The AGM ran seamlessly, with over 350 attendees registered on the system in a timely manner.
Results of the electronic voting on each resolution were collated instantly, allowing simple management of polls and the instant provision of electronic voting details to shareholders.
TESTIMONIAL
“The electronic voting system was easy to use for the shareholder and enabled votes cast electronically at the meeting to be displayed instantly – a significant improvement that enhanced the AGM experience for attendees.”
